Newbie to Ikea, is the Pax worth getting for a reach in closet?
WEBSep 29, 2023 · The 23" PAX is fairly deep and it makes getting items from the back quite difficult. With that in mind, I'd definitely put either a drawer/basket or one of those pull out shelves on the very bottom. And maybe change the two top shelves for pull out shelves too for easier access (they are a bit narrower obviously).

WEBDec 12, 2022 · Ikea presents and always configures the frames to accommodate doors, so 13" depth frames don't use traditional clothing bars. in order to use a standard clothing bar, you need to drill your own holes and void any warranty. Most people don't put doors inside a closed closet. Ikea assumes that all Pax closets will be out in the open and need doors.

WEBOct 16, 2021 · A Rep at my nearest IKEA store said that based on what is in the system, the PAX wardrobes would not be in stock until May 2023. I sure hope this isn't true as I demolished my walk-in closet with the intend to build with PAX. I had a PAX system in my old house and loved it.

WEBAug 29, 2023 · For PAX I'll use the 75x58x201 corpus and for PLATSA the 80x55x180. At the moment I only plan to install a hanging rack and a few baskets with no doors. PAX has the oak color design, which I prefer, while PLATSA comes only in white. PAX also has wider selection of gadgets, but drawers and baskets are probably enough for me.

WEBThis is amazing!!!!! Great job!!! Bummer about the jewelry drawers though. I've seen modifications to the alex drawers that fixes it for them, but no idea if that would work for pax, or if that solution would involve getting different slides. Don't hesitate to contact IKEA about getting sample slides, they are usually very helpful.

I am looking at doing either 20/40/20 or 30/20/30 - with the center frame being set up as a sort-of vanity, a mirror, my hairdryer, and jewelry box not a lot of product or anything, so I am thinking of leaving the center frame un-doored and would do solid drawers there if so (along with glass shelves and a pullout tray.)
